Bette Poulakos is our Creative Director and she reveals a few things about herself…
Q. How long have you been involved with Everfresh and what do you do?
A. Hello, I’ve been here at Everfresh on and off for many years, I’ve lost track. I am involved mainly in the creative side, from the photography, marketing, social media, blog and website content and I like to dabble in product development because I love food so much. Chocolate clearly is food and now that we make vegan chocolate I’m super happy!
Q. What is your favourite thing about your career?
A. Definitely the creativity which allows me to draw on my strengths and it challenges me to learn more each day.
Q. What’s your favourite pastime/s?
A. Without a doubt cooking, recipe development and photography. I love travelling too and discovering new parts of the world.
Q. Do you have any favourite chocolates and why?
A. All the vegan varieties and I am especially fond of those with nuts. I can probably nibble on the vegan almonds all day long!
Q. If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
A. I’d like to fly around the globe and sprinkle peace, love and kindness dust.
Q. If you were stranded on a deserted island with let’s say a kilo of chocolate, which would you choose, why and how long would it last?
A. I’d choose a vegan chocolate nut such as almonds. I’m thinking this would give me protein and energy and it will go down well with some coconut water. There are coconuts on this Island right?
Q. You win a holiday to either Alaska or Tahiti, which would you choose?
A. I love heat and normally would say Tahiti but Alaska is very tempting too because the landscape and wildlife is like no other. Hang on, I’ll toss a coin…looks like Alaska won.
Q. Have you watched (TV, Movie) anything compelling lately?
A. Unorthodox (on Netflix) is a captivating mini series about a 19 year old Jewish woman. Her story is compelling as she discovers life beyond her traditional ultra orthodox community when she runs away from NYC to start over and start her own life in Berlin. I give it 5 stars *. The South Korean film Parasite (on Stan) follows a struggling family and the lengths and schemes they plot to gain employment in the home of a super wealthy family. Original story and another favourite of mine. I give this 5 stars* also.
Q. Do you have a bucket list and what are the top 3?
A. Definitely to be able to keep travelling. Morocco and Mexico interest me and to Iceland or somewhere closer to see the northern lights. There are many parts of Australia too which I’d love to discover and visit.
