This week we introduce Irene who is our Food Quality and Safety Manager.
She is the comedian in the team but takes her role very seriously ensuring strict quality assurance measures are adhered to.
Q. Irene, what are your ‘main’ roles here at Everfresh?
A. My main focus is to maintain food standards codes, continually update quality manuals, regular product testing and ensuring our products meet the product specification. I also deal with employee relations and wellbeing.
Q. Have long have you been working at Everfresh?
A. I began in 2008 and I haven’t looked back.
Q. Do you have any favourite chocolates and why?
A. My favourites are Strawberry and Creams. The combination of strawberry, vanilla and smooth chocolate are a taste sensation. I also love the dark chocolate macadamias, peanut clusters and dark aniseed rings. Shall I go on?
Q. You win a holiday to either Alaska or the Bahamas, which would you choose?
A. Bahamas sounds nice, sipping Pina Coladas.
Q. Who would you like to play you, in a movie about your life?
A. Gordon Ramsay! Gordon Ramsay! Why, because he just says it as it is and we have the same stance on food safety and we share a similar vocab (wink, wink).
Q. Have you watched any compelling shows lately?
A. After Life on Netflix featuring Ricky Gervais. Brilliant series. It’s the only show that’s ever made me laugh and cry at the same time.
Q. If you were to be stranded on a deserted island with a kilo of chocolates, which would you choose? Why and how long would they last?
A. Because I’m a stickler for quality I’d eat them before they melt. Am I allowed a suitcase full? No? I’d take TV Mix for the delicious variety.
